“Come on Dan, it is only five minutes away,” Donna whined to her reluctant boyfriend giving him a playful push.
“I don’t know babe, something about being trapped in a small room just doesn’t appeal to me,” Dan said.
“It’s not that bad bro, they let you out whenever you ask, of course you automatically lose at that point,” Dan’s best friend Mike said.
“Wow Donna, I didn’t know your boyfriend was such a wuss, Mike and I have done several of these rooms, they are a piece of cake.” Mike's girlfriend Kayla said as the two looked smug with their skills.
Dan looked over at Donna who was giving him the biggest of puppy dog eyes. He really did love her and if being in a small cramped room for an hour made her happy, well then he would just deal with it.
After a short walk in the city the group found their way to a gigantic warehouse building that looked fairly nondescript, with only a small sign on the door stating “Escape Room X players enter here.”
“This looks pretty shady,” Dan said.
“Nah man, these places pop up all the time. I am sure they are just renting the space,” Mike said as he held the door open for Kayla and Donna.
Mike was kind of right, while the outside looked shady the inner lobby was very well maintained with fresh carpet, expensive chairs and touch screen monitors with cash machines attached to them.
The group took an awkward pause waiting for someone to welcome them, but there was no indication of any movement in the building besides them.
The screen of the monitors stated “Escape Room X Player insert cash or card to begin.”
Worried about being scammed everyone inserted $30 in cash into the machine as they simultaneously lit up.
“Congratulations on participating in Escape Room X, the escape room unlike any other, currently we have two rooms available for players, please select either Escape Room B or Escape Room S.”
“OK everyone, which one are we choosing?” Kayla said in an excited tone.
